  • The affordances for video for learners are many. Not only does it enhance engagement and accomodate different learning styles, it allows for self-paced learning and gives human authenticity to Extension content.

Good to know

  • Creating educational videos does not have to be an overwhelming task. The complexity of creating a video really depends on the size of your project. We often recommend a Good, Better, Best approach.
  • Keep videos short. Research shows that learner engagement is highest when videos range between 6 and 15 minutes. In contrast, a 45‑minute video lecture can feel overwhelming and discourage active participation.
  • Regional educators can request help editing educational videos from specially-trained support staff.
